Recently, the Delhi Government has made an announcement of making the two major public transport of the capital, the Delhi Metro and DTC Bus Service, to be made completely free for it's women riders. But, not everyone seems to be pleased with this proclamation. The social media trolls are clearly seen to raise questions on gender equality, concern for EWS, inflation and women safety. Some are even directing this as a political strategy for the Aam Aadmi Party for its 2020 Assembly Elections. Most of the dissent is seen from the women in social media. Most of the claim from the city's female riders hails on the fact that the women are becoming more employed in the workforce and hence, are able to pay for their fairs. They want the government to direct it's attention to the "real" development issues, like, electricity and water. But, however in such a strict patriarchal society where women need to struggle for each and every step in their life, a step towards equity should be welcomed warmly. We must always remember that Equity leads to Equality. Delhi has witnessed the worst cases of atrocities against women and is one of the most "women-unfriwou" cities in the world, with heinous crimes taking place against women. Women in the city are daily subjected to molestation publicly. This step by the administration to achieve equity is a fair chance given to all the women hailing from different walks of life and avail the mode of transport that they were once unable to. It might directly indicate vote bank politics but in a broader scale this encompasses several broader issues of women in the society and hence it should be accepted with the least opposition. I hope the government in the future would extend this to the EWS sections as well.

On 2nd june AAM AADMI PARTY has announced "METRO and DTC " buses will have only for a woman, as we know an Article 19(1)(A) of indian constitution says that all citizens have the right to freedom of speech and expression, means the right to express one's own sentiments and opinions freely by words of mouth,writing,symbols,painting or any other mode .Nowadays on social media going's on trend equality issues why not free for a boys? or an unemployee, everyday increasing of inflation, how could be safe for woman ? or is this service for an upcoming Delhi assembly election !
free travelling for woman may could give advantages but on other aspect, fare concession could be much lesser rather than free, because in huge amount woman's are becoming independent showing in Delhi, so might be they don't wanna to do free travel somewhere this step making them weaker to man's.Every single day they works for moving forward with fighting society to walking together with mans, this is very treasure thing they can afford that things what they want to do, we should be appreciate them more than 50% in majority woman's continuously posting on social media for oppose to this decision. can afford it tickets Delhi government should take another step 'jobs,electricity,education, pollution etc. she is posting this while being in a women coach or sitting on a seat reserved for women in the metro or DTC. And how is the co-related for a safety purpose? in metro all over around shows cctv camera, and highly security presence don't think so any kind of impudence will show for anyone and specially for a women if any crime shows surely security will easily catch them. In night duration Delhi become horrible as we know for both sex but mostly a secondary sex (women) because would not treat you in publicly like an living object anybody could touch without herself permission.But appearance in men can't see it any kind of molestation in publicly or on road. in daily basis every single women may faces this kind of road torture, get irritated this step might be helpful from this crap things, not saying only this free travelling service could give safety, will have to face&fight on self depends but according to free ticket for a women still nicely step this is true, everyone can't afford daily basis 100rs, fare on monthly around 3000 approx, so stop oppose now, through post what should be happen or not couldn't judge to anyone
about underprivileged people or an ordinary people? and many woman's are alive on this planet who can't afford it fare concession, even though thinking about that slum area woman, would have they see inside of metro? if a step uplift any one in the society we should welcome it!
if some women can afford the ticket, please purchase it don't go for subsidy.
it's totally upto you this is an option for women, why are we criticizing or opposing, the government official the Delhi budget is in surplus even providing subsidies to water, electricity&health facilities, they are just providing the surplus to one section of the community,at least they have started something we should appreciate them, and suggest few changes for Delhi citizen job creation, In education sector have showing government school work, let's remind something DMRC control fares which is owned by both center and state he has already opposed the metro hike and wrote letter to center in 2017 to reject the proposal however it was accepted.May be its vote bank politics but its gonna have a positive impact on a large group of people who earlier were not able to travel in metro due to high fare if something gives benefit to anyone in the society and uplift some one then should be do it, also it's a first step may be in future EWS also get the same benefit.
